Yesterday afternoon I had a lovely time at the Little Lambs Preschool fundraiser crop in Exeter. Karen Munger and her group of volunteers at Trinity Lutheran were exquisite hosts, planning a day of scrumptious food, great treats, lovely door prizes, and best of all — thirteen hours of scrapbooking.
It was a perfect example of building community. Nearly 50 women with interests in some form of scrapbooking/photo preservation/papercrafting; vendors representing Close To My Heart, Ahni & Zoe/Creative Memories, and Stamping Up — all joined together to raise money for a cause dear to us all — preschoolers. People shared ideas and skills as they told their family stories.
For me personally it was a day to reconnect with an old Creative Memories sister and meet several of her friends, meet a local CM consultant I have heard about ever since I joined the company and talk to her about the future of our scrapbooking businesses, get better acquainted with a Close To My Heart consultant I had met at a previous event, and hang out with several current friends/customers. Plus, since I wasn’t officially “working” the workshop, there was time for me to actually make progress in an album of my own.
And while we were at it, we exchanged times and locations of several monthly scrapbook gatherings, as well as upcoming retreats and potential retreat locations.
I love being part of this vibrant community of passionate women. As long as there are stories to tell, we will be telling them. What is your story today?
I’m off today for a new scrapping adventure…the fundraiser for Little Lamb’s Preschool in Exeter. I have been told by several of my friends that this is THE best crop around, with plenty of work room, oodles of goodies all day long, and a nice crowd. Although it is scheduled for all day, I have my granddaughters to myself all weekend, so will only manage to stay a few hours. Even so, I will be going purely to do my own stuff, with no responsibilities to teach or work.
I hope to be able to finish my husband’s family album, the one with his baby pictures in it. It is my favorite format: black pages, black and white photos, and journaling in white ink. I hope he loves it as much as I have loved doing it for him. What will you be working on today?
THIS JUST IN: Close To My Heart Corporate today accepted “Unicorns and Rainbows” as the official name of my new team of consultants. There are just two of us now, but we will be growing. And if you would like to grow with us, check out Discover the Art of Business. A very special kit price of $99 gets you wonderful papercrafting products worth $304…and in April that pot it sweetened by your choice of three Cricut bundles worth over $125…yes, $429 in product and business forms for $99! If you are intrigued or simply have a question or two, leave me a comment or send me an email. I would love to talk to you!
I am so excited to announce that Roxi Augustine is the first to join my new CTMH team as a consultant. Roxi and I were Creative Memories consultants together for many years, and she is a dedicated scrapbooker. I know her customers and friends will continue to enjoy inspirational gatherings in her home, exploring Close To My Heart together and celebrating their memories.
Roxi took advantage of April’s incredible team incentive, Discover the Heart of Business, and for $99.00 will receive a kit and bonus Cricut bundle valued at over $400.00! There’s a kit just waiting for you…what are YOU waiting for?
It is April, with Easter and Mother’s Day right around the corner. Come on over to The Little House (aka Sts. Mary and Martha’s House of Hospitality and Education) Saturday between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. I will have some card-making supplies on hand, so you can have the satisfaction of sending beautiful cards for Easter and Mother’s Day without paying $3.50 and up at the card or drug store. (Plus making your own is just plain fun!)
If you have an album or other crafty project in the works, bring it on over. We would love to see it, and you will have the peace and quiet to get lots accomplished!
